We ran into Mike and the kids at Target looking for Mentos... you know the ones, the Fresh-Maker! He said that if you put some in a two liter bottle of diet coke you will get a soda rocket! I didn't believe him... until I saw it for myself. Shauna took that great picture and I took the video (check it out on Mike's YouTube).
Finally, no more cast for Emily. Trying to get a picture of this kid is like trying to get the Loch Ness Monster on film but trust us... the cast is gone and her arm has healed well.
In case you didn't hear, Emily broke her arm a week or so ago. While she was in the back yard she was walking across this plastic slide when she slipped and landed on her right forearm.
She broke the same bone (opposite arm) that she did 7 years ago, almost to the day! XRays taken that evening show that the break was not "clean" and a shard of bone still lodged in her muscle.
The next day... off to get a cast!
After the doc tries to set the bone he puts a cast on and then takes another xray... only to show that the bone didn't move at all!
The next day, Emily gets admitted into the hospital so they can set (complete the break) the bone and recast it.
Afterward, they take another xray.. now it looks straight.
Unfortunately, the timing means she is going to miss out on some swimming, basketball and cycling but all in all, she's doing very well. Thanks to all the well-wishers that have been stopping by and calling!

We always knew that this day would come... the day that we would need an external hard drive. So, a few months ago we bought a 500 GB Lacie Big Disk. It's hard to believe that the first computer we owned as a family had a 2 GB hard drive (the same size, ironically, as the card in our digital camera) and there weren't a lot of others with a hard drive that big! Needless to say, with our music collection and digital pictures, we could barely survive with the 100 GB on the PowerBook and 80 GB on the PC. What pushed us over the edge was our quest to convert all of our VHS to DV. With 60 video tapes or so there are hours and hours to copy... stay tuned as we will be posting some of the classics. What goes better with a new domain and a new external hard drive? A new host! Our new site is hosted and registered by GoDaddy.com. Their prices can't be beat and their service is amazing... they have 24x7 live phone tech support and service... wow... what hosting company does that.
The new hard drive has also given me the chance to re-organize all of our photos (Dawn's going through all of our photo albums and boxes of pictures). Sometimes a picture jumps out and slaps you in the face... like this one... any guesses where and when it was taken? Let us know by clicking on the 'Comments' link below. Gas for under a buck?!?! What is there to do now that 24 is over and that AI will picks it winner (Taylor) on Wednesday? Well, hopefully, we can finish converting all of our old home movies from VHS, 8MM and even some old film format, to DV. This one has a little of everyone, Ma, Mike, Jerry, Joe, Hope, Mimi, Rene, Grace, Chris, Bob and Dale. I did have to size it down to keep it reasonable for most. Coming soon... Christopher, Christopher and more Christopher.
