The Year in Podcasts, 2022
/Since the early days of podcasting, I’ve been hooked on the medium. And I’ve always wanted to write a post about what I was listening to. I love getting recommendations for other shows to listen to, but I really wanted to have a list for me to be able to look back on.
Read MoreThanks for Wordle, Mr. Wardle
/I’m not quite an early adopter on this, but I have been playing Wordle since Saturday, January 8. I heard about it on the Kottke Ride Home podcast that previous week - the lovely story about Josh Wardle who created a word puzzle game for his partner - and then spent the next day and a half playing an app called Wordle, and not really understanding it.
Read MoreMy Chipotle, Your Chipotle
/To say that I am a Chipotle fan is putting it mildly (as mild as their Tomatillo salsa!). I’m not sure I would call myself a fanatic, although I know that others have labeled me as such. I just love the food at Chipotle. At least once a week over the past decade I have eaten Chipotle. (A quick check of my credit card transactions over the last two years shows that number is closer to 1.3 times per week) There is not another food from outside of my home that I have loved for anywhere near as long.

Aside from my family and my professional career, Podcast Stockton remains one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. Podcast Stockton was a true labor of love for many years... and 107 episodes! I wouldn’t be who am I today if it weren’t for the show.
In response to coverage of my hometown that nearly always focused on the negative, I released the first episode of Podcast Stockton on March 22, 2009. Choosing to focus on the positive side of Stockton, I wanted to bring listeners local business reviews, commentary on local issues, and interviews with local residents.
Read MoreOver the Edge
/I have almost no fears except what I would consider a very natural and normal fear of heights.
But that wasn't enough to stop me from facing that fear, honoring my dad, and raising some money for Community Hospice Foundation. So, thanks to my awesome friends and family that generously donated to the cause, I took the plunge - at a controlled pace - down the Medico-Dental building for the Over the Edge fundraiser. I first heard about this fundraiser right after they began planning for it, while Dawn and I were enjoying a lovely bottle of wine at Mile Wine Co. As soon as I heard about it, I knew I had to go for it!
Read MoreA Year of Lasts
/Nearly a quarter-century ago, Dawn and I began our lives together. Actually, I had just moved into her apartment, so, at the time, we may not have realized that we were beginning our lives together.
The next year we were parents. And a year after that we officially began our lives together when we became husband and wife.
